to disable beeper forever i would cut the wires :D

what's a good way to disable it forever, while leaving it enabled in the kernel? in other words, I want to disable on bootup, but keep the option of re-enabling it. Dgrant 19:09, 9 Sep 2004 (GMT)

You might be able to add it to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist or some similar thing - adding "blacklist pcspkr" to modprobe.conf somewhere should stop it working. --Mgdm 20:22, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
