Can you add media-fonts/cjkuni-fonts to the overlay? --85.180.64.188 21:02, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dependency on media-fonts/cjkuni-fonts

The ebuild currently has package media-fonts/cjkuni-fonts listed as its dependency. Unfortunately, for reasons yet unknown, this package was removed on 2007-05-02 16:53:08! At present, it's not clear into which new package the corresponding fonts have been moved! Sorry for delay getting back to you. I'll try to find which font package is most appropriate then edit the ebuild to depend on the new one.

-> Quick fix, just get it back out of gentoo cvs and place it in your portage overlay. The needed tars can still be found on the net too. --pjv 14:34, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Now depends on media-fonts/arphicfonts

Trouble with the "quick" fix is that it introduces a new package not supported by the mainstream Gentoo packaging effort. It also overlaps existing current packages containing the necessary fonts. They haven't been removed, just renamed! So perhaps not so quick in the long run.

The new DimSum ebuild now depends on media-fonts/arphicfonts which is the new package containing the necessary TrueType fonts. Just synchronise if using layman, i.e. layman -S, or download the tarball. It contains an updated ebuild script and associated manifest. Then re-emerge.
