Talk:HOWTO iFolder client
From Gentoo Linux Wiki
The simias ebuild dosen't worked for me. But there is a overlay and a guide: http://www.ifolder.com/index.php/HowTo:Building_iFolder_on_Gentoo
Since only the client is OSS and the server remains proprietary (and only comes with Novell's OES) this howto will be dead in the water.
The way I see it, Novell is abusing the OSS community by getting coders to improve the client, and offering nothing in return.

- Novell now offer an opensource server called Simple Server, in addition to their commercial Enterprise Server.
- This shows a far better understanding of the open-source business model: while the functionality is freely available to all they offer a version with extra features commercially. For now, Simple Server is less advanced, but at least its there. --Andykali 14:54, 17 September 2005 (GMT)
