[edit] alternative

I've written a more simple, and hopefully more complete wiki article in HOWTO build a LiveCD with Catalyst for noobs. --Pseudonimo 00:36, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit]

Catalyst's main documentation is fairly verbose but doesn't seem to answer many of the questions as to how or why it works how it does. Most of this is answered after you have used it a couple dozen times but that doesn't help the learning curve much. I think a FAQ could help in this area some....

After I have collected my notes/tricks of catalyst I may extend this howto a bit.

[edit] Too Much Hand-Waving

This HOWTO sees to say thing s like "Input these commands." quite a bit without ever explaining what said commands *do*. I'm in the process of learning to use Catalyst. Once I understand more, I'll come back and fill this in a little more. Aryaniae 22:00, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unionfs support

I would like to see how Unionfs can be integrated into catalyst to provide a normal filesystem structure. (like as used in Slax)

I recall an article on the Catalyst mailing list about unionfs,# but I don't have a proper mailing list link available (one archive is on my notebook, which is not much help in this case).

But take a look at: [1]

[edit] Referal

HOWTO Gentoo LiveCD and LiveUSB links to this page, and this tutorial isn't even completed - you don't go around linking other pages to your own without completing them >_< --80.217.189.168 06:26, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
