Wine is an emulator, it catches Win32 calls and translates them to native UNIX calls, it only emulates a Win32 enviroment, it's not a full machine emulator, but it's still an emulator :) --- Aidan

Wine is a translator, but it also emulate the Win32 environment, that why why call them "*W*ine *i*s *n*ot an (x86) *e*mulator"

Arguments about the semantics aside, the guide is way out of date and needs a lot of rewriting, possibly a full rewrite. Nanonyme
