Talk:OpenSceneGraph

I am pleased to see that OpenSceneGraph finally found its way into some ebuilds. What I still missed was the entry in /etc/env.d, which I set to

> cat /etc/env.d/99osg
PATH=/usr/share/OpenSceneGraph/bin
OSG_FILE_PATH=/usr/share/OpenSceneGraph

Thank you for the efforts!

(RR) Excellent suggestion! Thanks. New version of ebuild script for osg now adds your 99osg to /etc/env.d.

WHY DON'T YOU SUBMIT THESE EBUILDS IN GENTOO ?????

[edit] Ebuild for version 1.9.6

I created an ebuild for the 1.9.6 version, it's a LOT simpler to install, I'll submit it, but until then if anyone's interested, msg me.

Ok, I added it now, see : http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91526

[edit] Direct installation of OSG 2.0 on Gentoo 2007-1 (2.6.22) worked

None of the above worked on my Gentoo 2007-1, so I downloaded the most recent stable OSG 2.0 and followed the README.txt. Prerequisites: cmake, mesa. Enable "Load glx" in the "Modules" section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Cheers! --Dnt2wiki 22:17, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] How about this?

http://www.plopbyte.net/#gentoo-packages way easier method imo.
