obviously this needs to be fleshed out much better. There are very little in the way of instructions. What config files need to be modified, etc

[edit] Why unstable?

What is the need to emerge the ~x86 versions of PHP and MySQL? The latest stable versions are more than sufficient for a good LAMP setup. If there is a legitimate reason for using unstable packages then the required version should be put into package.keywords so that updates don't pull in the latest unstable version.
