Talk:HOWTO FVWM
From Gentoo Linux Wiki
I just attempted to go through this guide, and found I couldn't start fvwm after I emerged it. There was an error indicating that no config file could be found. I could not find a config file anywhere (I emerged slocate and ran updatedb, then did a locate). I then emerged the fvwm-themes, and still no config file. Finally after emerging fvwm-themes-extra, I at least had something under /root/.fvwm (I know you shouldn't run as root, but this is a new sandbox I'm testing out). Finally I was able to start fvwm. I assume it's using the system default, but I'm not sure how to get a usable config file at the moment. You may want to test this how-to out on a clean install.--Herda05 05:36, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
I will soon tinker around with fvwm as I would like to switch WM/Desktop and I'll give my best at improving this article! Check again later for news! --Don4lfonso 21:47, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
