Talk:HP Pavilion dv5000z

Oh yes I do disagree with the deletion, because:

although the 2 pages have (almost) the same content, 64bit is not very popular yet; hence, it is common for the non-experienced user who looks for info about his pavilion to disregard this information by prematurely concluding that it is related only to 64bit installations. So, in order to make it easy for non-experienced users, I recommend the page stays (and grows).

Alternatively, a quote "These apply to both 32 & 64" can be placed, so we end up with one page only-

Any seconds?

I definitely SECOND that the page stay. In particular, at this very moment am web-searching all I can find in order to install SUSE-10 on my HP dv5000z, and also, do ask that the page grow with more about installing Linux of any flavor on this machine.

Sorry, I'm the author and I've read this talk just now ;-)

I've installed Gentoo AMD64 and don't know if what I've written about graphics applies to both 32 and 64. However I think that ending up with one page would be better.

I could:

  • replace this page with the other one, which I'm updating, and keep updating it;
  • add a remark in the Graphics section, like "This applies to Gentoo 64 but should apply to a 32 bit installation too";
  • delete the other page.
