[edit] Framebuffer issues
Anyone that has gotten framebuffer to work on the M1210 in gentoo 64?
It works using the Sabayon x86_64 live CD. It appears they are using the vesafb, based on a zcat /proc/config.gz | grep FB.
I have gotten framebuffer to work fine now. I compiled vesafb support int he kernel and used the following in grub.conf video=vesafb vga=0x305

The wireless network interface has been updated on later releases of this laptop, I have a Broadcom 4311 chip in my.
Dell offers three different cards as at 07 Mar 07. I've put in a spot for you to discuss your (which I believe is the Dell 1390).
I have succesfully gotten the bcm4311 chip to connect to open networks now. You need to edit the larry patch using a fix for the mentioned card. Look for the patch in the gentoo thread listed on the wiki page.

I am having USB power issues - when I plug in my Blackberry, it says that there is unsufficient power. Is this the experience of others? Any workarounds known?
