It would be quite handy to link this with UML, to make it easy to create "virtual appliances" based on a stripped down Gentoo core.

Is the network setup Gentoo-like, i.e. in /etc/conf.d/net and uses the regular setup or do I have to create a /etc/init.d/S01net script and "hard code" the setup there (e.g. ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0 up)? Thank you, Kenza

Has anyone tried logfs? Most of the embedded applications I have looked at use some sort of flash storage. I have yet to find a reference in the gentoo community to anyone who has tried using logfs. I am currently trying to create a logfs enabled livecd, but no luck so far...
