Pidgin (formerly Gaim) is a modular messaging client capable of using the following protocols:

• AIM
• MSN
• Yahoo!
• Jabber
• ICQ
• IRC
• SILC
• SIP/SIMPLE
• Novell GroupWise
• Lotus Sametime
• Bonjour
• Zephyr
• Gadu-Gadu
• and QQ

It is written using GTK+.

• If you have no sound in Pidgin, try with the "gstreamer" flag. Remember that pidgin default sounds may be found in "/usr/share/sounds/pidgin/"
