[edit] Overview

I2P is an anonymous network a bit like Tor or others. Clients in the network run the I2P software. The software uses inbound and outbound tunnels to send encryped data between nodes on the network. Nodes on the network are not known by their IP address, but as a cryptographic identifier. This creates a good degree of anonymity.

A eBuild can be found here: [1] (Note that this ebuild will only work on x86 platforms)

"The german i2p handbook" can be found here: [2]

Even though i2p would greatly improve secure downloading, it is not (yet) available in portage.
