[edit] Introduction

This is one of the lightest and sexiest laptops on the market today. I wanted to get the lightest machine that still runs a full operating system, and the SSD was a plus.

[edit] Geting started

Getting to the first boot is an adventure, as there is no CD/DVD device to boot from. The best choice is to make a USB key from one of the Gentoo install CD's. I used the universal install CD, but I don't recommend this, as the graphical part didn't work well, and the ncurses installer was primitive. I recommend installing from a minimal install CD following the install guide using a stage tarball. The yukon wired ethernet is recognized out of the box, so it's a matter of linking to net.eth0 and starting it.
