Your hardware may vary slightly. My model's (2662) specs :

Works with gentoo kernel 2.6.19-suspend2-r3. (kernel config).

[edit] Multimedia keys
- The following keys are hard-wired and need no software : Brightness controls, Mini-lamp (on/off) (lamp built into lid, illuminating the keyboard), internal/external monitor switching, Volume controls (up, down, mute).
- Registered in acpi : lid, sleep (F4), power, suspend to disk (F12), blank screen (F3)
- Register in nvram : Thinkpad, Volume controls, Monitor switch, Brightness controls, Mini-lamp.

- Suspend to ram : suspends, but on resume screen stays off, and system freezes after a while.
