This page is particular to Gentoo Wiki as a project. IRC would make sense for a general howto or a tip but not for something specific. -Tro

You shouldnt encourage people to use utf8 on irc generally, most places it earns you a warning, then a kick/ban

Huh, I was really surprised to see that official gentoo irc network was efnet? AFAIK all gentoo channels are on freenode, being the official ones..
