Note: You do not need to emerge csh when installing the HL-2070n printer.

Note: If you are using amd64, then you may have to unmask csh.

emerge -va csh rpm

Note: If you use the MFC 7820N make sure you have foomatic emerged.

emerge -va foomatic

cd /home/download-folder

Then choose what you want to do next.

Note: These instructions may work with other MFC models. I will keep a list of other models that have been tested by other users.

MFC-685cw (network printing works) network scanning works with kooka but not with sane (config issue with sane-backend). The drivers that were downloaded from brother are the MFC665cw drivers which are the default ones that are available.
MFC-5440CN (Printer & Scanner) network printing and scanning on x86; AMD64 doesn't work for me
